A study and discussion of the life and work of the most famous Lutheran theologian of the 20th century, Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Bonhoeffer may be best known to the public as a pastor who was executed in the last days of World War II for taking part in a plot to assassinate Hitler. But before he died, he had established himself as a very significant writer and spokesman for the church. We will read and discuss his most famous book, "Discipleship" (an earlier translation was titled "The Cost of Discipleship").

The discussion will be led by Pastor Albertin and Pastor Marcus Felde of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and is offered to members of Christ Church and Bethlehem and other interested participants.

  • Includes refreshments, fellowship and childcare.
  • Gathering alternately at Christ Church and Bethlehem (52nd and Central in Indianapolis)
  • We're reading Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy by Eric Metaxas.
  • We're also reading the 4th volume of Bonhoeffer’s collected works - Discipleship, published in 2003.
