Celebrate the Church Year with Us!
Reviewing Jesus' life, death, resurrection, and the birth of the Christian church on earth, over the course of the year.
At Christ Church we follow the liturgical calendar as a way to enrich our worship and our spiritual life together. In each season of the liturgical calendar, we focus on different aspects of Jesus' life and ministry. Moving from season to season, the liturgical calendar highlights themes that we might otherwise miss.
Our Lectionary is like a handbook to the liturgical calendar, with specially-chosen Scripture passages for every day of the year. We share our Lectionary and calendar with Christians throughout the world. In union with them, we share the same passages and observe the same festivals throughout the year. You might say that we're doing world-class worship right here at Christ Church! (just kidding!)

Decorating Our Sanctuary and Website
We decorate our sanctuary according to each liturgical season. Colors, symbols, banners, and art are like a Gospel for our eyes, in concert with the Gospel we hear with our ears. This multi-sensory approach to worship helps to center our thoughts and feelings as we give worship to God.
Along with our sanctuary, we decorate our website as well. While you probably only see our sanctuary a few times per week, you can conveniently visit our website any time you like! Our front page always highlights the current season and time, with a short devotion and specially-chosen graphics that we're happy to share with you, as something you can take with you on your own road to Emmaus.
Learn about Our Festivals and Holidays!
Here are some additional pages we've written, to tell you more about the seasons of the church year. We hope these resources will help to share more of the interesting history and meaning behind the special occasions we remember and celebrate. Please explore, and see where your curiosity leads you!
