Celebrating the Church Year with Our Website
Each day we decorate our website according to the liturgical calendar, with colors, banners, and other graphics. As you come back to our website in the coming months, perhaps you'll notice the changes each time you come visit.
Below are the various mosaics that we use to decorate our altar. We also display them in various places on our website.

We also display the banners that we display in our sanctuary.

Where's our black banner? Why 2 white banners?
For the season of Epiphany, we use the white banner with the star. We speak of the Magi, the mystical wise men from the East, who came bearing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. If you look closely at the banner, you can see the Star of the East, shining bright over the city of Bethlehem, represented by the bricks at the bottom of the banner.
And for the season of Easter, and certain other festivals, we use the white banner with our resurrected Christ, freed from the cross and the bonds of death to be our sacrifice for sin.
But regarding black, we don't use a black banner. The color of Good Friday is black. In our tradition, our altar and sanctuary are stripped of their decorations.
