About MOPS @ Christ Church
What is MOPS?
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. This includes any mother that has children infant through Kindergarten. MOPS is an international non-profit organization with over 2500 chapters worldwide - three here in Zionsville, Indiana.
What happens at a MOPS meeting?
A typical MOPS meeting includes announcements, fellowship, a speaker, small group discussion and a creative activity. We also have breakfast for moms.
What happens with my children?
Your children will be cared for in a loving environment while you are at your MOPS meeting. They will have a lesson, craft, story and snack.
Is there a membership fee?
Although MOPS is non-profit, we do charge a $80 annual fee to cover our operating costs, speakers, childcare, crafts and materials. Partial payments are accepted and scholarships are available. Please do not let cost in any way influence your decision to join. If you need more information contact us.
What topics do the speakers discuss at MOPS meetings?
We try to schedule a wide variety of speakers during our MOPS year. In the past, we have speakers such as Sara Snow (host of Discovery Channel's Get Fresh with Sara Snow) on Fresh Foods, Christy Pruhliere (WFYI) on Ready to Learn and Literacy, Margie Kilgus (Christ Church member) on Floral Design, including a hands-on demonstration. This year we have scheduled topics including Family Budgeting, Sibling Rivalry, Disaster Preparedness, and Travel in Indiana.
