Our Holy Communion
Communion Is Open to All Baptized Christians!
We celebrate Holy Communion at nearly every worship service. God comes to us in this real and physical way to touch us and feed us for life. We invite you to share this holy meal with us at any of our worship services.
You Are Welcome!
All baptized Christians who seek the blessings of Christ's true body and blood in the bread and wine of Holy Communion are welcome at His table. There, we receive Him and the new life He offers. All who eat and drink at His table commit themselves to the care and redemption of all that God has made.
Christians may be baptized through many traditions - not just within our Lutheran tradition. You might have grown up as Baptist, Methodist, Moravian, Catholic, or another tradition. For us, baptism is Christ-centric. Once you were baptized, you were adopted into the family of Christ, and this is our family meal that we share with you. You have a place at our table.
How We Commune at Christ Church
During our service, our Ushers help to guide everyone up the center aisle, and after communing we return to our seats via the side aisles. You are always free to choose between an individual cup from the tray (featuring both wine and grape juice), or to drink from or intinct (dip your bread) in our common cup.
You are always encouraged and invited to sing along with the hymns and songs that we offer during communion! Please feel free to carry your bulletin or hymnal along with you, and sing, as you come forward to share in Christ's body and blood, broken, shed, and given for you!
